Abigail Adams and Christ in "The Divinely Appointed"

A few months back I had the great opportunity to work with photographer, Helen Robson, and be her model for Abigail Adams in this photo. She does a series called Captured Miracles where she shows Christ assisting people in various situations. She sells them online and then donates all the proceeds to different children's charities. She decided to do a series about the founding of our great country "The Divinely Appointed" She was looking for an Abigail Adams and heard about me (and my great dress) and asked me to be her model.

Jesus is played by Jason Calvi, who is our good friend and neighbor. It was fun to work with them and to see Helen and her talents at work. She is AMAZING! Not only is she a photographer but she did my hair and make-up and made my necklace and hair bow too. She darkened my hair with brown hairspray. I looked weird! My kids laughed at me when I got home! The papers I hold in my hand is a replica of an actual letter from John Adams to Abigail. They wrote over 12oo letters to each other and spend more than half of their first ten years or marriage apart! Don Jolly, a historian and his wife, Sarah, helped out with historical context. She wrote this letter by hand and it looks JUST like the original! This photo is not totally complete yet. She is going to photo shop in some window panes to make it more historically acurate.

They found this actor to play Thomas Jefferson the night before! He was a little under the weather which I think made everything more authentic because this was supposed to represent him taking a break after finally finishing the Declaration of Independence which he spent days and days locked in his room writing.

It was so fun to watch this photo shoot of Patrick Henry giving his famous sermon. Bill Norton, also a good friend and in our ward, made this gorgeous podium the night before (at 2am) and was there to watch the shoots too. The weather that day was amazing. Some wispy clouds and just the right amount of wind to kick up his coattails. Helen was thinking of superimposing Christ (Jason) up in the air but it seemed to cheesy and the shot was so perfect. She is going to photograph the inside of an old church, put that in the background behind him and slowly have the church fade away into the sky. Can't wait to see the finished product!
