To help prepare for the Pioneer Trek this summer, to certify for girls camp and to help the girls learn the importance of the temple, we walked from the Mesa Temple to the Gilbert Temple on Feb. 20th, 2012
At 5:47 am, we headed out with all the young women in the Val Vista ward, their leaders, Bishop and sister Budge, Bro. Despain and President Ballard, to the Gilbert temple, 13 miles away!
Chloe and her friends, Shannon, Callie, and Autumn, kept borrowing my phone to take silly pictures as we walked.
Olivia had just turned 12 and was one of the youngest kids there. She was TIRED at first but once she struggled through the first 3 or 4 miles, she got in the zone and walked and walked and talked and talked!

We were so excited when we saw the Gilbert temple in sight! We started running!! We got there 4 hours and 50 minutes total. Tess ran 7 of the 13 miles with some of the older girls and beat us by almost 2 hours!
The actual temple above a drawing of how the finished temple should look in the fall of 2013
Me and my girls. I love them soooo much and am grateful that temple blessings allow us to be sealed together forever!
