Happy Birthday Chloe!

Our new 12 year old has been waiting a whole year for this day!
You made it CHLOE!!!

Our third child was the easiest one yet. Born three weeks early and happy ALL the time!

Chloe has always been talkative and outgoing. Never a dull moment.

The first of our kids to have Daddy's big brown eyes.

Chloe, an Arizona baby, can still enjoy the rain like her mom.

Chloe is an early riser. This morning she was up way before 6:00 am. At 6:07 Olivia came to wake me up and tell me that Chloe was ready to open her presents and have breakfast in bed! It was a Saturday. I did get up soon and made her a smoothie and poppy-seed muffins. YUM!

She asked for a camera of her own and now she's got it. She put it to good use right away!

Her cute carrying case. It matches!

Chloe wanted a gymnastic's b-day cake and party at her gym (USA Fitness) so I looked at a picture online of a girl doing the splits in a handstand on a beam and drew this design, and switched the beam to her gym logo.
One of my favorite cakes EVER!

Our gymnast with her cake. The gymnast on the cake is her. Can't you tell?

Chloe, a Young Woman!

The night before her b-day the Beehive class from our ward came and kidnapped Chloe and took her to McDonalds for ice cream. Chloe was dead asleep when they got to our house and she did not go willingly. She kept telling them to get off her and leave her alone till I told her who it was and why they were attacking her. Then they had fun!! After they dropped Chloe back home and she fell asleep, the Beehives came back and "Heart attacked" the front of the house and garage door with tons of big purple hearts with messages written on them and left this sign for people to HONK for Chloe's b-day.
We heard lots of horns all day long!

At the gym, Coach Suzanne helped the party girls (and Rustin) get warmed up!
Tess was at home working on an American Sign Language project with her friend.

Doing the splits! Olivia, Madison, Megan, Ashli, Alexis, Bailey, Natalie, Emily, Rachel, Chloe, Olivia G., Penelope, Landrie, and Shaylee.
3 sisters and one set of twins and one set of Olivia's.

Rustin had fun trying out every aspect of the gym, especially doing the "log roll" with this octogon mat.

The two Olivia's racing up the ropes.

There was lots of trampolining, swinging, flipping, flying and racing!

Olivia trying out the BOY'S equipment for a change. Not so bad!

Bailey just hanging around.

After a super fun Pit Race, (Chloe beat me in the end- a great come from behind victory!) and Capture the Flag (our team kinda cheated by hiding the flag too well) we went up to the party/dance room for cake and presents!

Chloe in her birthday chair getting ready to make a wish.

Too bad it took her about 10 blows to get all her candles out!

Twin gift cards from the Olin twins. Thanks girls!

Chloe always wanted to give everyone a big hug after she opened their present but we were running out of time so she just got one BIG group hug at the end!!!

Broken Bone #2 for Rustin!

No. Fingers are not supposed to rotate like that!!! You know it's bad when the teacher at school calls you to come pick up your son because "his finger is either dislocated or broken." I'm thinking, it's gotta look pretty funky!
He broke his middle finger at the bottom of the top knuckle. (The top of the middle bone) He was playing flag football in P.E. and went for someone's flag a little too hard and crushed it.

Luckily Dad was off work early today and came with me to pick him up from school. We headed to get x-rays and then we went to Brian Gallman's office because Russ didn't have the right size splints. Thanks Brian and Josh! While there, Russ gave him a shot to numb his finger so he could twist it back into place without both Rustin and I passing out from the pain (and empathy pain). Seriously, he tried moving it a bit without the shot at first and we both went pale. It is all straightened out now, bandaged up and feeling good (until the shot wore off)!

The broken one is on the right. Do you see the difference? See how it looks like there's some extra bone at the top of the second bone down?

Now it's the finger on the left and it looks all fuzzy at the top instead of crisp and clear like the other finger? Not good!

I think that's why it's called a transverse, impacted fracture. I call it munched. Glad I have such a great doctor hubby!

16 years with no broken bones in the Crawford house and now two in the last month!
At least it was his right hand (and he's left handed!)

Happy Halloween!!

We had a happy Halloween and hope you did too!

Chloe is an adorable Super Hero!

Did someone chip a nail or run out of lip gloss??
GIRLIE GIRL to the rescue!

Chloe made the shirt and I made the cape.

Rustin the Morbidly Obese Ninja

Watch out all you skinny dudes!

Okay. I agreed to this costume BEFORE I saw the back of it!!!

Olivia is a fly who is being eaten by a spider for dinner!

People loved her costume and it was fun to watch them figure out what she was

All three of my cute trick-or-treaters!

Chloe had a blast all day long and then that night with two of her friends, Natalie and Emily (A Steeler's player and fan)

Olivia and her friend, Olivia Gallman. This picture was taken about 1 minute before Olivia G. threw-up in our front yard as we headed out to trick-or-treat. Poor girl! Her dad came and picked her up and her sister, Shaylee, met up with us and trick-or-treated with us later that night.

My Olivia started throwing up a couple hours after we got home. So did Chloe, Tess and Russ just a few days later!!!

Tess dressed as Hermione Granger and heading out to a party with friends.

Olivia loving her collection of goodies!

A fun Sunday afternoon activity- Let the candy trading begin!

My stash was our left-overs, layed out on the left. Rustin is brokering some deals.

Olivia collected over 261 pieces on Halloween night and the trunk-or-treat. Chloe had about 200 pieces. Lots of teeth brushing to come.

Poor Tess didn't get any candy but we share the extras :)

Riding and Shooting

On Saturday, Oct. 10 we dusted off our motorcycles and took them out to the desert again for a day of riding and shooting! It had been a year-and-a-half since we last rode, but it came right back.
Just like riding a bike!

It was a perfect day. A little cooler than normal, a few clouds in the sky and a nice breeze.
Olivia learned how to ride a motorcycle for the first time and was riding the 70 on long trails and over jumps by the end of the day!
Her quad riding days are over!

Rustin bought a paintball gun with his birthday money but hasn't had a chance to go out and shoot it yet. I suggested he bring it along and he was all over that!
Here he is sharing with Chloe.

A little hot and sweaty!

Rustin is a great coach.

Chloe can't concentrate without biting her tongue.

Rustin forgot to bring the hopper for his paintballs to go in so we had to load them by hand, one at a time. Thanks Dad.

Tess in her Gilbert Tiger sweats taking off for a ride. She likes to ride alone.
Just as the day was winding to a close, she ran over a piece of barbed-wire that wound around her tire spokes and stopped her bike in a split second and dumped her on the ground. You should see the big purple bruise on her knee. OUCH!

O.K. This part was RUSTIN'S idea. I shot him in the back. Yes, I shot my own son!

He had never been paintballing before and wanted to know how bad it would hurt to get hit, so he asked me to shoot him in the back from 30 feet away. He donned a helmet and I shot him! I felt bad but flattered that he trusted me to shoot him. That sounds really weird. He said he knew I would only shoot him once! He had a nice red welt there right away and it's still a little red today (Monday) He said it hurt pretty bad but it didn't last more than a few seconds.
Tough guy!

Next we got out the BB gun and had fun shooting at Coke cans and water bottles- not each other with this gun!

Liv trying different ways to aim. Looking so cute in her motorcycle gear!

Now I've got the BB gun. Watch out people!

Rustin teaching Liv how to aim with his gun. It's hard because there are no sights on a paintball gun because the hopper is normally in the way.

I don't know if I killed any of those cans or bottles but I had fun! Thanks Russ for an awesome Arizona desert day! He spent all last Saturday getting the bikes ready and the whole week getting everything licensed and ready to go!
LOVE YOU!
